It's been busy, busy, busy at work these days. I'm finally caught up with reading at

redandthewolf, but I'm still reading at

rt_challenge -- so many nice posts there this challenge!

I did manage to finish something to contribute for

redandthewolf, although it was right at the last minute again (sigh). This is the fic that I was soliciting location suggestions for, a few weeks back -- Sheffield won the vote, so that's what I went with. Sheffield actually only has a walk-on part in this fic, but I may write follow-ups later.

Erosion (1728 words | PG/mild profanity) -- Remus is moving, and James is sulking, because he really isn't fond of change.

Also, all four parts of the DH Remus-goes-home-and-grovels fic that I was writing for

rt_challenge are finished now. It was fun writing this, since I got to be angsty and romantic in the span of the same story. ;)

All That I Am (6422 words | PG-13/mild profanity, intimate situations)

Coming soon(?): an Andromeda-POV DH fic that I started for

rt_challenge but didn't finish in time, and (*gasp*) a new chapter of All Will Be In Order...maybe...by the end of the month?

"All That I Am" is a DH-era story written for the March 2008 event at

rt_challenge. I really feel like I've stretched myself writing this; I tried a few new things, especially first-person Remus POV -- and a little more romance than usual (especially in Part 4).

I'm very far behind on e-mail and LJ things just now (hope to start getting caught up tonight). I'm even slightly behind on today's planned update for All That I Am, although that should go up in the next day or two -- I did make a lot of progress on it last night after being stuck for a while.

But meanwhile, in honor of our favorite werewolf's birthday, here's a link to a story I posted at

rt_challenge a couple of days ago. It's "real-time AU" (in the By A Thread ficverse), so it takes place on March 10, 2008, and if anyone thought that All That I Am is too angsty, this one will balance that out just a bit.

Finally! By a Thread, the (*cough*) canon-denial fic I started at

Part 1 of this story was posted last August for

rt_challenge, and the conclusion was first posted here in November. I've since revised the story a little for posting at fanfiction.net, which consisted of adding chapter titles, dividing the original Part 2 into two chapters, and making minor edits to chapters 2 and 3 so that the two plot threads would fit together better. Those changes are now incorporated here as well.

Since reading DH, I've been making myself feel better by working on both a canon-compliant peaceful!afterlife fic and, yes, I admit it, a canon-denial AU fic. I enjoy other people's AU fics just fine, so I don't know why I feel weird about writing one of my own, but ... I do. So I wasn't sure if I would even be willing to post it where, you know, people could actually see it.

But then I noticed a couple of prompts at this month's

rt_challenge that make for an irresistible combination: cheat and the end. How can you not want to run off and write a canon-denial fic when you see that?

So here it is:

Unfortunately, this is part 1 of 2, and part 2 won't be done in time for

rt_challenge. But I'm still working full-speed ahead ('course, for me, that's five miles an hour) on this story, and I fully expect to have the second part done in the next week or two.

What a crazy few weeks this has been in the R(/T) world... There's the final new canon to process (!), and several fic challenge communities with dozens of contributions to read and enjoy -- especially
