My plan was for the next thing I finished to be either Chapter 3 of "All Will Be In Order" (it's so close! there's just one crucial conversation that won't cooperate!), or else a certain DH-era, Andromeda POV fic I didn't manage to finish for the last [livejournal.com profile] rt_challenge.

Nope. For some reason, I found myself going back to early OotP, to finish a "Kaleidoscope" installment that pulls together and expands on two ficlets I wrote more than a year ago. But I've learned it doesn't pay to fight plotbunnies...
  • Stripes (2337 words | PG | OotP)
Sirius discovers that Tonks is unaware of something rather important about Remus, so he takes matters into his own hands -- betting that the growing friendship between his cousin and his best friend is strong enough to survive the revelation.

Author's note: Half of this story is a revision of a couple of ficlets posted at [livejournal.com profile] rt_challenge in January 2007, Stripes and Revelations. The other half consists of two new sections from Tonks's point of view.

I'm glad you didn't fight the plotbunnies - they can be vicious creatures and I would have feared for your health! ;) Own of my muses is being very heavyhanded with wanting my attention and also wanting to expand quite a bit on the graphic novel, and it is completely impossible to ignore him!

Oh and I hope your search for Sandman has more luck. I borrowed them all at the library, maybe you could try there too?

Hee hee, plotbunnies are either vicious, or they are fickle -- if I ignore one for too long, it may hop away forever...

Volume 1 of Sandman is checked out at my university library (both copies, heh), but I will keep watching for it to come back in. Meanwhile, I've got lots of other nice summer reading to look forward to.

Ah yes, I remember your extensive reading list. It sounds wonderfully relaxing! *happy sigh*

Aaah! Vicious! :) (so cute -- we have baby bunnies in our back yard sometimes, which, since we don't have a vegetable garden, I like)

That certainly would scare me. I'm really glad all I have to do is use the delete button on the keyboard, heh. Although I guess I get some of the flavor of inerasability in posting to a community where I can't go back and edit later...but I'm sure it's not at all the same!

By the way, I finally got around to looking up your username last night, and it's a great one, both for the literal meaning and for the mythological context. I've got 'rime/frost' going, too -- that's the shimo part (tsuki is 'moon').

Oooohhh, your name is great too! And now I see how apt you icon is. :) I love norse mythology and couldn't resist choosing a name from there (plus I love horses! ;))

Ah yes delete button... If only I wasn't so fond of traditional media, I would definitely be doing this digitally, so I wouldn't ruin it all with one mistake. I started out with some of the easy stuff though - inking up the frames.. ;)
