["Kaleidoscope" update] Stripes

My plan was for the next thing I finished to be either Chapter 3 of "All Will Be In Order" (it's so close! there's just one crucial conversation that won't cooperate!), or else a certain DH-era, Andromeda POV fic I didn't manage to finish for the last
rt_challenge.
Nope. For some reason, I found myself going back to early OotP, to finish a "Kaleidoscope" installment that pulls together and expands on two ficlets I wrote more than a year ago. But I've learned it doesn't pay to fight plotbunnies...

- Stripes (2337 words | PG | OotP)
Sirius discovers that Tonks is unaware of something rather important about Remus, so he takes matters into his own hands -- betting that the growing friendship between his cousin and his best friend is strong enough to survive the revelation.
Author's note: Half of this story is a revision of a couple of ficlets posted atrt_challenge in January 2007, Stripes and Revelations. The other half consists of two new sections from Tonks's point of view.

Date: 2008-05-11 05:43 pm (UTC)Volume 1 of Sandman is checked out at my university library (both copies, heh), but I will keep watching for it to come back in. Meanwhile, I've got lots of other nice summer reading to look forward to.

That certainly would scare me. I'm really glad all I have to do is use the delete button on the keyboard, heh. Although I guess I get some of the flavor of inerasability in posting to a community where I can't go back and edit later...but I'm sure it's not at all the same!
By the way, I finally got around to looking up your username last night, and it's a great one, both for the literal meaning and for the mythological context. I've got 'rime/frost' going, too -- that's the shimo part (tsuki is 'moon').

Date: 2008-05-13 06:12 am (UTC)Ah yes delete button... If only I wasn't so fond of traditional media, I would definitely be doing this digitally, so I wouldn't ruin it all with one mistake. I started out with some of the easy stuff though - inking up the frames.. ;)
