When I joined LJ almost exactly six (!) years ago, it was so that I could post at the January 2007 event at
rt_challenge. And every December after that, there was an event going on at
metamorfic_moon. So this is the first holiday season I've faced without a Remus/Tonks event -- and I'm going through a certain amount of withdrawal, lol.
And so, I thought this just might be a chance for a little R/T drabble (or drawble) meme. There are no rules, because I'm just making this up right now, but here's how I thought it could work:
Blame
katyscarlett76 for this, because she was encouraging me to do it. ;) (And yes, I'm still working on Kaleidoscope Ch 3, and totally planning to post by the end of the year!)

And so, I thought this just might be a chance for a little R/T drabble (or drawble) meme. There are no rules, because I'm just making this up right now, but here's how I thought it could work:
- Post an R/T drabble or drawble. No word limits, no restrictions. Post it here as a comment, or post it on your own journal (in which case, if you like, you can put a link in a comment here).
- Your drabble/drawble could be holiday-themed. Or not. Whatever inspiration strikes.
- If you would like prompts, comment here -- ask for a holiday prompt or a general prompt, and tell me if you want more than one a la Jumble. Or prompt yourself by picking a random track on your iPod. Or open a book to a random page and take the first noun, verb, or adjective on that page. Or ask a friend for the name of their favorite Christmas carol.
- We'll have a little more R/T love (or angst, lol) in the world!

Date: 2012-12-22 06:33 am (UTC)In the spirit of Meta, I thought I would use Christmas carols and objects for prompts. So, how about:
- Silent Night
- Christmas crackers
(But using the prompts is optional!)no subject
Date: 2012-12-22 06:46 am (UTC)Do people read the poem "Twas the night before Christmas" out loud to their children, or is that hopelessly American? Alternatively, is there another beloved Father Christmas story that Remus's mother might have read to him around, oh, 1963 or 1964?

Will there be the compulsory Meta deadline extension? ;)

Date: 2012-12-23 07:19 pm (UTC)I'm actually contemplating throwing aside my scared-to-write-fiction-in-English-thoughts (or any fiction at all with this talended group...), but we'll see what inspiration and courage can come up with.
Since I'm very new at this - is there a deadline to this?

I didn't even think about a deadline! I suppose I should set one so we can extend it, lol. I guess it would be a fun start to the new year if I could post a masterlist on Jan 1? That would suggest a deadline of, let's say, noon my time (so 5pm GMT?) Jan 1. Unless we have an extension. ;)

I didn't even think about that! But I suppose we'd better have one, if I'm going to make a new post with information about everyone's drabbles and drawbles. Let's say by 5pm GMT (that might be 6pm or 7pm your time?) on Jan 1. But if that date gets close and people want more time, we can have an extension...
Happy writing!
