[Kaleidoscope updates] Fic posts at metamorfic_moon

It's the end of a fanfic era -- metamorfic_moon just held its final event ever. It makes a lot of sense that the community's day is over, since there's much less activity in the Remus/Tonks fandom than there used to be, and (as with Calvin & Hobbes?) it can be a good for a good thing to end while it's still on a high note. But I'm sad to see it go nonetheless! At least Meta will always be there as a repository of some of the best R/T writing and art.

I did take advantage of the opportunity to write two new installments for Kaleidoscope. One takes place fairly early in OotP. The other one -- well, after starting it four(!) years ago and realizing I couldn't really finish it until I had figured out a lot more about what Remus was doing with the werewolf pack in HBP year, and what some of those "million times" might have looked like -- I've finally come back around to write the Kaleidoscope version of the hospital-wing fic. :)

  Last month, Sirius carefully explained to Tonks that Remus needs privacy after the full moon. But now...somehow, something has started to change.
  
  
• Landslide (7600 words | PG-13/mild profanity, brief descriptions of violence, canon minor-character death)
  Remus is so very certain that he is right to push Tonks away, no matter how much pain it causes both of them. And Tonks will never give up, not as long as she knows that Remus loves her. But the inevitable collision between the irresistible force and the immovable object takes an unexpected turn on the night the Death Eaters invade Hogwarts.

I can hardly wait to read. But, I'm going to save it! Just like the last chapter of a Harry Potter book, I don't want it to be over! So I am going to save it until I can give it the attention it deserves!

I can't help but be grateful for meta for bringing me in contact with such wonderful people. And for being a safe place to post those first forays into my art. :) You own story of coming full circle now from your first attempts to write the Hospital Scene, to now having explored the back story and being a lot happier with what you have produced is testament to a community that is supportive and nurtures the good ideas. ♥

How did I forget to say 'art' in my post? Fixing that now. Because almost all my favorite R/T art is at Meta, too. A lot of which is yours!

And you are so right about the nurturing aspect of Meta. What a wonderful community it has been.

Although I'm not a huge R/T shipper (for no particular reason), I always love recc'ing your stories when people are looking for high-quality ones. How nice to have wrapped up some of your head!verse. And it does sound like that was a really awesome, long-running fan site.

Oh, that's so nice to hear!

It's interesting how fans are drawn to different characters. Remus Lupin really grabbed my imagination in PoA and never let it go (as far as the HP universe is concerned).

Meta was definitely a wonderful site! The long-standing actual mods (I only joined in as a helper mod toward the end) really created a challenging but supportive atmosphere.
