Recent fics: Remus/Tonks and ...Simon/Alys??

I was going to be all organized this year and do a 2010 Fic In Review post with writing resolutions for 2011. Maybe I'll still get there, but...not yet, heh.

So instead, at least here's some of what I've been up to recently. Two R/T fics for the Winter Hallows Advent at metamorfic_moon -- they always seem to come in pairs nowadays, because writing canon angst makes me want to write denial-fic AU fluff to compensate!

• Sanctuary (3045 words | PG | HBP)
  Tonks wasn't going to go to the Burrow on Christmas, until she got Molly's owl.
  
  
• Confetti (430 words | G | AU, 2002)
  Remus is almost ready to ring in the New Year when he notices that something is missing.

As always, there's a lot of great stuff at Meta from this event. (And I'm still reading, so if you haven't had a comment from me yet, it's on its way!)

And then, there's even Vorkosigan fic. A little, anyway. I was sort of feeling obsessed with this fandom before the holidays, and reading quite a lot of fic, and then I ended up writing a little Simon/Alys drabble for fandom_stocking for philomytha, an acknowledged master of this ship. ;)

• Protocol (300 words | PG | Simon/Alys | Memory)
  Simon makes an uncharacteristic slip, with unexpected consequences.

There's still a Winterfair (Vorkosigan) fic exchange going on at bujold_fic, for which I very much hope to write something, but work is closing in again, so we'll see how that goes. The posts for the exchange so far have been great, though. (And someone has even written for the prompt I submitted, but the fic is in Russian...makes me want to try Google Translate, lol.)

Your translation is definitely on the to-do list - the Winterfair translation deadline is end of February, and we should get it done before then. Remember that Winterfair doesn't really have a minimum word count, and anything you write will be appreciated :)

I'm actually about halfway through the translation of the Elizabeth Naismith fic, so you can take it off your to-do list :-).

Oh, that's exciting! Thank you for taking that on! :) There are a couple of languages I can read, but sadly Russian isn't one of them.

And I'd better get cracking...I think I'm going to try my hand at some Ivan.

That's wonderful! I didn't realize that this fic would necessarily be translated, especially since I haven't actually written anything for the exchange yet. (I did try to leave a "спасибо" comment for the author, but I kept getting an error message whether commenting anonymously of with OpenId...)

I went back over the prompts list last night, and I think I've found a blue one I can work with. It may well be short, but I'll make sure to post something.

We're translating all the cross-language fics, and some of the other ones too. So if you write something for a Russian, it'll be posted over there in a format they can read, and vice versa. :)

Yeah, the commenting over there is a little broken - if you click to go back, it should eventually give you a new number to type in that usually works.
