For once in my life, I actually finished a story for an event at [livejournal.com profile] metamorfic_moon before the clock was counting down the final seconds to the deadline. Imagine!

This was a Kaleidoscope installment I've been wanting to do for a while (not that I forced my Meta prompt to fit it, or anything ;P ) -- it's about Tonks's first visit to 12GP after Sirius's death and how she and Remus are dealing with mourning, and it's kind of a sequel to Friends. It's set right before Blindsided/Unattainable, so Remus hasn't had his epiphany about Tonks yet, but he's getting awfully close. And this was one of the scenes I absolutely had to plot out so that someday I'll finally be able to finish my version of the post-hospital-wing scene.

Congratulations on finishing so well in time! This looks really tempting (despite my long-time reluctance to read RL/NT). But do you recommend I read Friends first?

Thanks for the congratulations -- I'm glad I wasn't scrambling at the last minute, for once.

I'm happy to hear that the story sounds tempting... If you do decide to read this one, though, I don't think there's any real need to read "Friends" first. That previous story is merely the source of a comment by Sirius that Tonks thinks about near the end of "Catching Hold".

Now that I've finished writing this piece, I'll have some more time to read. I actually started "A New Host..." last night, and have been enjoying it. I should have comments for you soon on that!

Thank you for helping me decide to read this new fic immediately. It turned out to be an even finer experience than I expected. I suppose I can continue and read other parts of your series and other fics by you almost in any order.

So good to hear you’ve got more time to read and given some to my WiP, too. Your interest and any comments – like this one here, too – are a treasure. My beta has still not been available and I’ve felt uncertain whether another (more) major revision is needed before the text is good enough to be submitted to archives or posted in communities. Thank you so much for your support!

Hi Shimo! (does that make any sense, or did I choose a bad place to split your name in two?)

I just wanted you to know that I have read and very much enjoyed your story at Meta, but Sirius is after me like a demented dog begging for attention, so I haven't been able to leave you a proper comment. But I loved it! And it also turned my attention to "Friends" which I have never read, so thank you for that too. :D

LOL, that makes sense. It's shimo+tsuki for 'frost'+'moon'. ;)

Thank you so much for the kind words! Long comments make me happy, of course, but so do short ones like this -- especially from busy people. Thanks for taking the time to read when you have so much else going on. And be sure to keep the forward momentum going on that [livejournal.com profile] bigbangblackout project! :)
