There's a new seasonal drabble/drawble event underway at
metamorfic_moon. The last one was a lot of fun, so it's great to see another.
I've sort of cheated this time, actually -- I decided to post an excerpt from a "Kaleidoscope" update I've been working on sporadically this winter. It's kind of a sequel to Messages, in that we see the mirrors again and it deals with the dynamics of the relationship between Remus and Andromeda.
I'm not sure when I'll be able to finish the rest of this story and post it here -- work is really, really crazy right now, and I know I'm always saying that, but I really mean it this time, heh. (This is the first evening I haven't spent working since last Thursday, including the weekend.) But maybe having posted this excerpt will motivate me to finish the story. Especially since the title has nothing to do with this part of it! ;)

Date: 2009-04-02 08:17 pm (UTC)Normally I am pretty protective of my evenings as time for me and not for work, but right now I just have several externally imposed deadlines that I'm not going to make if I don't go all out. It's not that bad in that I know it's only for another month. And I'm not necessarily feeling that stressed (at least not constantly) -- I just have to give up free time for now and keep myself focused on working steadily and getting things done. (Steadiness not being a strong point of mine!)
This ficlet last night wasn't so much writing as cleaning up something I already had for posting, heh. And it's a little choppier-sounding than I would have liked, since I had to cut out 500 characters to get under the comment limit! But thinking about fic for a few minutes certainly was a nice break.
I really appreciate your comment on the relationship between the characters -- I think that's a fascinating dimension, and several of my DH-era Kaleidoscope fics are going to play around with that.

Aside from anything else, I just want to know what you're going to do with the title!:D

Date: 2009-04-06 04:24 pm (UTC)I'm glad you think the angle I'm taking with Andromeda, that she's not all that different from Remus in some ways, seems to work. I think she's a really interesting character. (And I much prefer an AU future for her as well, poor thing! But I digress.) I'll be very much looking forward to seeing what ideas you have for Andromeda.
I'm rather hoping Remus letting his guard down for once, and Andromeda showing her vulnerability, also for once, might lead to some kind of understanding...
*whistles innocently* ;)
And the title relates to something I've been planning to do with this fic since well before DH, and now what we know of Ted's fate makes it a little more poignant, so I'm looking forward to writing that scene, heh.

Date: 2009-04-06 05:32 pm (UTC)That's supposed to be I wonder, btw. *headdesk* The only consolation with doing embarrassing typos to you is that at least I can console myself with the fact that a linguistics expert will probably decipher what I'm on about!
Am very encouraged by the 'innocent' whistling. ;)
