It's summer! Which means that work has subsided to a dull roar, and I plan to be posting a little more regularly.

Starting with this: We had SpringFest at [livejournal.com profile] rt_morelove (here's the masterlist -- look, new Remus/Tonks fic and art!), and I managed to squeeze out a postwar denial!fic in the Warp and Weft series that tackles some plotbunnies I'd been wanting to write for a while. (Matthias has a cameo!) Set between A Matter of Opportunity and Support, though it should stand alone.

    Happily Ever After (4690 words | PG/mild profanity | late May, 1998)

  • Tonks wonders whether she can trust this new happily-ever-after, or whether back-to-normal means that Remus will start to doubt his worth again.

Oh so good to see you around! Have you had a good semester?

Good to see you, too! :D

I had a busy but fairly good semester, and then I had some conference travel (f-locked post coming soon with picspam), and now I'm finally settling down trying to do summer research -- including learning how to set up a linguistics experiment on the web and do all kinds of things I've never done before.

How are things going with you? Are you able to do any art these days?

:D

Sounds like summer will be interesting! Are you already feeling the heat of the South? We have had a decent summer so far, which is a lot to my liking!

Work is getting busy, because I get to do more fun stuff, but I seem to find the time still to draw and paint a little. So that is good!

OMG, it just started getting humid and nasty yesterday! I am not ready for summer in the South... If we're lucky we can get almost through June before it starts to get steamy, but I guess not this year.

Work is getting busy, because I get to do more fun stuff

I guess that's good? I mean, if the content of what you have to do at work is more interesting, that sounds very good. Too bad it makes you busy, though!

but I seem to find the time still to draw and paint a little. So that is good!

Yes indeed!

I don't envy you at all! Today was rainy and gray here, but just right in that summer rain way.

It's good. And I have been to some interesting places - like within the last month Nigeria and Pakistan! Needless to say this is not my mother's favourite cup of tea, and it does feel weird with all the security around all the time...

But then it's good to bring sketchbooks along, since we are not allowed to leave the hotel/camp in the evening anyway!

Having quite an impressive thunderstorm at the moment, actually...

Nigeria and Pakistan, wow! I take it that was for work? Definitely sounds like some intense experiences.

Don't answer this on an open post if you don't want to, but I'm wondering if you're in a different job than I'm remembering -- maybe this is development-related or NGO type stuff?

I'm still in the cement business, but these are the kind of places we are constructing factories. I don't have much of an impression of neither Nigeria or Pakistan (besides them being beautiful!), because we are driving around with armed escorts and not allowed to really go anywhere except the work places. I'm glad that Pakistan was two weeks ago, and not this weekend though - it would not have been fun to be caught there in the current situation!

Very good point -- a couple of weeks ago would have been a much better time to be in Pakistan than now. :/ But it certainly sounds like you're doing interesting things at work!
