Oh, goodness! I was just on this page and found that I had never answered your comment. And such a thoughtful and kind comment it was, too -- I'm really sorry about that.
So if you think that Tonks has a dolphin patronus...what is Remus's?
I haven't decided what I think about that!
I know some might disagree because his blatant pushing away of Tonks could also indicate that he'd been in love once (or similar) and had been shunned/rejected/it had gone very wrong. But I think it just as likely that he never took a risk because he was too frightened to.
That's definitely the way I see it, but one fun thing about fanfic is the possibility of imagining the characters with different kinds of histories. I like reading other versions of Remus and Tonks, too.
But I like the end a lot, too, because even though I almost feel like she'll give in to a good cry later, for now she's determined to not let it end like that.
I'm glad you liked the ending. Tonks is determined partly because she doesn't yet realize just how stubborn Remus is going to be -- she's thinking that they'll have a good argument and he'll change his mind. (Poor thing!)
Thanks again for reading, and I'm sorry this response is so late.
