I was recently in the library for something else and happened to run across a book called The Rise and Fall of the Victorian Servant, and couldn't leave without it. It was fascinating -- and actually sent me off looking for DA fic. ;) Can't wait for the new season!

(I'll have to go hunting for that story on your non-fic journal so I can read it again, because I remember being very struck by the way you conveyed strong and heart-twisting emotion in a subtle and light-handed way...that's one of the many things I try to learn from you.)
