I know one of your goals with the Kaleidoscope series is to make sense of DH Remus and his all-over-the-placeness, and you have definitely accomplished that here. All the reminders he faces at the Ministry of his status as outcast and undesirable are like a series of sucker punches to the gut, and the way you have him literally-second guessing himself all the way to the marriage office explains why Remus behaves the way he does throughout the first part of DH. And you truly have shown that it's not all that--that he's at first living in a dream-like state of happiness--and then having Angelina's father be the officiant who thinks well of him, contrasts so perfectly with the prejudice he faces.
It's funny to say in an R/T piece that my favorite bit was Arthur, but I adore his POV of all this. That he's so quietly sensitive--he killed me when he willed Molly not to say anything about their clothes--and then taking Remus' awful badge...Guh. Love. That. Man.
Wonderful. I think this might be my favorite of your fics yet.
