Thanks for reading -- I hope it was depressing in a good way? (heh) I wanted to come up with a plausible reason for why Lupin hadn't tried to be part of Harry's life. (Other than the fact that it was necessary for the plot of PoA to work. ;) )
One of the things that really struck me about Harry in the beginning of the first book was the way he still managed to have enough spirit to tease Dudley back, even after all those years of being downtrodden. So I wanted to show a little bit of that here, too.
