[100 things] Declaration | 100 Adventures

It's better than a meme -- it's a challenge. From [livejournal.com profile] jdbracknell:

{Take the 100 Things challenge!}

I hope this will:
  • get me posting more regularly
  • be a chance to gain experience writing creative non-fiction
  • get more conversations and thoughts going all around the f-list
...All good stuff.

My 100 Things will be 100 Adventures. And what's an 'adventure'? That remains to be seen -- but cooking adventures and brief tales of adventures past are not out of the question.

Anybody else out there got 100 Things? I'd love to read about yours. :)

LOLOL I can promise you that there are really not that many! :)

Are you going to try it? I might have to think of something that can be split up, because 100 posts about the same thing, I'm afraid I'll end up boring myself. ;)

Ha, it would be fun to see how far you got, numbers-wise, before you ran out of suitable candidates!

My first ambition is to finish off the LJ post I started in February - in which amongst other highlights I mention Christmas - and see if anyone out there still cares. I've thought of a few possible subjects (unfortunately only you would read 100 horses, lol), but I did think about splitting it between books, films and TV programmes and why they've remained in my head.

You could include lots of horses in your books, films, and TV list? ;) (Is Misty of Chincoteague something kids read over there?)

Don't think I wouldn't! ;) And no, I hadn't come across those - *quick trip to Amazon to read up* - but it sounds like one I'd have adored as a child. And probably as an adult...

My Friend Flicka and the series of novels by Mary O'Hara was read till they almost fell to bits when I was a teenager. I've still got them stored in a box.

Yes I'm sure you would like that. ;)

Oh dear, Christmas! lol. I shall look forward to hearing about it. And yes, that does sounds like a very doable theme for you (incidentally, someone on my flist is doing 100 things horses taught me ;)), and I could pick up a lot of new books I'm sure! (Kingkiller trilogy #2 is on its way to Denmark soon btw :D)

100 things horses taught me is a wonderful idea. :D (Not sure what it says about me that it's far more enticing than doing the same for people!)

Kingkiller trilogy #2 is on its way to Denmark soon btw :D)

Tell me when it arrives. I feel I must not be far behind you in this, lol.

I feel the same way! Things you learn from horses can only be awesome, like: "Don't put your feet where the horse is going to stand." ;)

I will let you know when Amazon deigns to inform me!

So true. Important life lesson #2: never allow a horse to use you as a head scratching post while wearing your best white t-shirt.
