I'm grinning so hard as I read your comments, because you've hit exactly on what I wanted to do with this: make it clear that there is real joy for Remus on his wedding day, while still making the story fit with the breakdown we know is coming.

And I'm glad you like Arthur, too. I imagine he knows something about being judged, and being afraid of not measuring up, and I always thought that between that and his natural kindness he would have understood Remus pretty well...
