I like these two parallel scenes. You show Cazaril's insecurities very well, and I really liked dy Ferrej's shocked realisation that for a moment, everyone's fates rested on his choice. The contrast between Cazaril's expectations and dy Ferrej's opinion of Caz as a husband for Betriz was nicely handled. It was especially gratifying after the numerous references in CoC to how unsuitable Caz perceives himself to be as a husband. Lovely fic!
