But I did go thinking very happy thoughts about this! It is an absolute treat to read, so thoughtfully done and characterised. I love the way that it reads very easily and quickly, and yet all the while you're building up the tensions between the three of them (or two of them, while one tries to dispel all tension) so that I got to the end and realise how far they'd travelled from Remus thinking it's going to be a very long summer to Fred actually stating it out loud.
I think it's very fitting to have the tension between Sirius and Molly ecalate even more by him taking exception to her fear of Remus, while Remus, of course, does not, and insists it's perfectly understandable and almost reasonable. Molly is a great mix of kindness, prejudice and prickliness - I'm greatly looking forward to seeing her relationship with Remus develop into an affectionate one, and wondering if that will appease Sirius at all or not?
I also enjoyed the reasons behind Sirius' suspicion of Remus being the spy being wholly human ones, having gone down that path myself, while Remus, heart-breakingly, has assumed werewolf ones. And, as a British aside, the line about Tesco's taking over is supremely brilliant as - I don't know if I'm telling you something you already know - but they are frequently accused here in the press of taking over every little shop going!:D
The contrast when the children arrive and we see Molly's thoughts - I love the bit about how she's so impressed with Remus' cleaning - is also just right. Especially when she stands that little bit closer to him to tell him about Sirius...
Wonderful read! I'll look forward to the next one after that pesky jumble. ;)
