Simply fantastic. You created the tense mood very well and all the details about the students and the Sorting made everything really vivid. I loved Neville here. The way you described him with his father's "unshakable resolution" and his mother's "friendly, open face" was perfect. Snape was deliciously vague, but rather frightening too - a great culmination to the whole piece. Excellent job!
